January 13th Newsletter

New Year, New Newsletter

Well, did you miss me? Did you even realize I didn’t send out an email last Sunday?

It’s alright, I forgive you. Though I didn’t receive any emails desperately asking where the Sunday Shakedown was, I know that you all still care(that’s at least what I tell myself).

My sudden disappearance last week was intentional. After reflecting on the past year and planning for the one ahead, I’ve decided to implement some changes:

  • Every Other Sunday: The newsletter will now only be fighting for your attention every other Sunday. This will give me more time to create better content that you actually want to read.

  • Main Contributors: I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of people share their writing with this group. I’ve asked a few enthusiastic friends to be main contributors for the site. If you’re interested in writing one article for the Shakedown, I’m still offering periodic guest spots. They are filling up fast so email me soon!

  • Fighting The Dreaded Spam Folder: After switching email providers, I was told that many of my emails were getting pushed to spam. I’m switching providers again this year to see if it helps. If they are still getting placed there, just add this email address as a contact. That way you never miss a Sunday Shakedown.

Yearly Evaluation Template

I wanted to evaluate my year in 2018 and also plan for 2019. After searching the internet for a template and not finding anything I liked, I decided to create my own. I’ve decided to share the love and offer a free download to all my subscribers. Click the link and enter your name and email(so I know you are a subscriber) to get the free download. Feel free to share with friends and family. I would love to hear your thoughts. Happy evaluating!

Friendly Feature

Drew Reed

As you might already know, Drew is my younger brother. Our differences are noticeable, but our respect for one another creates a special relationship between us. We spent all of Christmas debating what constitutes good music. He’s a brilliant musician, so he’s probably more right than I am that topic. I asked him to do a recap of the year’s best albums. Enjoy the jams!

Sunday Quote

“The power broker in your life is the voice that no one ever hears. How well you revisit the tone and content of your private voice is what determines the quality of your life. It is the master storyteller, and the stories we tell ourselves are our reality.”

- Tim Ferriss, Tribe of Mentors

Pretty Pictures

I finally got around to sifting through all the pictures from Tucson. I was going to post all of the beautiful pictures of the Arizona landscape, but decided to post a bunch of pictures of Cooper instead. I’m sure you won’t mind.
