Man's Search for Meaning
Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir of life in Nazi death camps and its lessons for spiritual survival was a necessary life slap for me. Frankl convinces us that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”
The theory is known as logotherapy-- which illustrates that the primary human drive is not please but the pursuit of what we find meaningful.
This meaning in life can be fostered. It can help us find purpose while battling life's storms. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to become more resilient in their own personal storm.
